A public benevolent institution is a type of charitable institution whose main purpose is to relieve poverty or distress. Public benevolent institutions are recognised by the ACNC and ATO as a subtype of charity.
You can only claim a tax deduction for financial gifts or donations over $2 to organisations like Little Windmills that have the status of deductible gift recipients (DGRs).

Money: We are always thrilled to received monetary donations. We will receipt your donation and any amount greater than $2 is tax deductible.
Auction Items: We are always looking for big and small items to auction off at events. We are grateful for anything you can offer, be this items or services.

We support both rural and regional areas.
Once a referral or application is received our panel assesses it: an outcome is determined on the applications merits, its perceived priority, and Little Windmills’ capacity to assist.
To safeguard the health of the children we support volunteers are not able to visit or work directly with the children. You can help us to support our special children by volunteering at our events, fundraising, or making a donation.
All public donations are directed to:
- Rural and Regional Australian families with kids who are ill, injured, disadvantaged or have special needs.
- Rural and Regional Australian Hospitals for things such as upgrading facilities in children’s wards or the hiring and training of staff.
