Now Closed – 2019 Townsville Family Flood Fund

It has been a humbling privilege for our small team to process applications over the past few days and witness the floods devastation on households, through photos and videos from all over Townsville.

Due to the large amount of applications, the 2019 Townsville Family Flood Fund is now closed. Applicants will be emailed the outcome of the assessment no later then Friday 15th February.

We wish the entire Townsville community the very best with the clean up efforts and are grateful to have played a small part in our contribution. We would like to once again thank Middlemount Coal for their generosity and heart for the wider community.

2019 Townsville Family Flood Relief Fund

Little Windmills: The Country Kids Charity and Middlemount Coal have announced the Townsville Family Flood Relief Fund, where families with children 15 years and under may claim a one-off $500 payment to help the flood recovery process.

Little Windmills major supporter Middlemount Coal, have generously raised $40,000 of the $50,000 fund in an effort to ease the financial burden on flood affected Townsville families.

Important Fund Information

  • Fund Closing Date is the 8thMarch 2019 or until the $50,000 fund is exhausted.
  • Assistance will be provided by a one-off,  $500 lump-sum donation per family.
  • Members of a family are restricted to lodging one application, ‘double-dipping’ is not allowed.
  • Assistance is for flood affected families with children 15 years and under.
  • For the purpose of this fund, the definition of ‘flood affected’ is:
    • Temporary relocation/evacuation due to water covering floor inside principle place of residence.
  • Applications will be accepted from families who’s principle place of residence is in the suburbs of Idalia, Kelso, Railway Estate, Hermit Park, Annandale, Oonoonba or Rosslea (extenuating circumstances may be considered).
  • Please direct all queries and applications via email to admin@littlewindmills.com.auonly, no questions or queries will be taken via phone due to the current work load of Little Windmills staff. Kindly allow a 7 – 14 days processing time once an application is submitted.
  • All applications will receive an email response from Little Windmills to notify the outcome of the assessment.
  • Each application is assessed on a case by case basis by a Little Windmills assessment panel who will determine successful and unsuccessful applications.  Little Windmills reserves the right to reject claims without explanation. Each assessment decision is final and non-negotiable. Elements which may influence the Little Windmills assessment panel’s decision may include:
    • The number of cases being assessed and their relative severity.
    • Little Windmills financial position.
    • The quality and clarity of the information provided.
  • Further documentation and evidence may be requested by Little Windmills at any stage.  Little Windmills reserves the right to disclose to a third party any details supplied.  Little Windmills relies on the generosity of organisations and the Australian public to finance its charitable giving.

 

Application Instructions

For ease of application there is no application form, all applications are to be lodged in the form of an email containing the below mentioned information and attachments.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Please send an email to admin@littlewindmills.com.au noting your family surname and flood assistance in the subject line, with the following attachments:
    • Proof of address eg: photo of utilities letter or back of driver’s license.
    • Proof of identification eg: photo of both parents drivers licences
    • Proof of children under 15yrs eg: Medicare card displaying children’s names.
    • Photo or evidence of flooding inside house.
  • Application emails to contain the following information for ease of processing:
    • Names and dates of birth of all family members residing at principle place of residence.
    • Contact information including phone numbers and Address (principle place of residence where flooding occurred).
    • Details of your flooding and evacuation eg: date/s flooding occurred, date/s evacuation/relocation, to which shelter, how many nights any other details that maybe relevant to your circumstances (your story).
    • Bank account details where funds are to be deposited if application is successful (Acc Name, BSB, Acc number). Bank details supplied must be in the applicants name/s partner’s name and correspond to identification supplied.

We’re a not-for-profit with a heart for rural and regional Australia, supporting seriously sick and injured country kids.   We rely on ‘The Little Windmills Holiday Lottery’, Community Fundraising Events, our Corporate Partners and the generosity of the Australian public to make an important difference to the rural and regional kids we help.

We alleviate the financial burden on families with a seriously sick or injured child by subsidising things like medical expenses, travel, accommodation, groceries and more… it allows Dad’s and Mum’s to focus on what’s important, their little one.

Through your support we’re able to make a powerful impact and support families doing it tough throughout regional and rural Australia.
